Can you tell our readers where you’re from and a little bit about yourself?
I am a genuine lover of people, nature and our family of rescue dogs! ...And coffee! I have a wonderful home by the ocean and love mornings on the beach and the sound of bird song at sunrise. It’s such a wonderful start to the day! I love the creativity in my work and connecting with people, especially future brides! Originally I am from Queensland, and have lived in London and Melbourne and now call Byron Shire home.
How long have you been in the industry and how would you describe your style?
I love the hairdressing industry which I have been apart of for 11years. I trained and worked in Melbourne salon Shibui South Yarra, where I developed my finesse for natural styling creating effortless 'done, un-done' hair. With this vibe I worked on editorial features and trained with and worked alongside Kevin Murphy on Australian, Melbourne and Myer runway.
My style is all about creating soft pretty textured upstyles, and beautiful wavy outstyles, with an effortless and romantic feel. It’s about finding the perfect balance between Byron Bay Boho and a polished style, that is your own signature style.
What is your go to hair style?
I totally love a textured low bun, with soft pieces that frame the face. There are so many options of this style for brides to create it as their own. I love it!
Most memorable wedding you’ve been to?
Honestly, it’s an honour to be a part of each and every wedding! I am so humbled when a bride chooses me to be apart of her day with her loved ones. It is one of the most memorable days and I just love making everyone feel so beautiful. I bring my calm energy and share in all the emotions of the day.. The excitement, the nerves, the tears, the joy.. All of it is just fabulous!
Do you have any hair tips for our brides to be before their big day?
Treat your hair with love! Have fresh colour, treatment and trim those ends so they are healthy and the style sits beautifully. Blondes, if you are having an upstyle or half up, ensure you have the right amount of colour - you don’t want to see big dark areas underneath when you have your hair styled up!
Also, clip in hair extensions can be a great addition to compliment your style. Ask your stylist if it would be suitable for your look.
If you could be the hair stylist at a celebrity wedding past or future who would you choose?
I would love to style hair for Margot Robbie! She is so vibrant and genuine and I’m sure her day would be filled with fun and love with a really relaxed vibe!
